Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Control System Engineer to join our Metering Department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in metering systems, flow computers, and PLC-based control systems, with proven experience in engineering design, documentation, and site commissioning activities. The role requires both analytical and practical expertise, ensuring accurate system performance and compliance with industry standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute engineering design and development for metering control systems.
  • Prepare and review Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Instrument Data Sheets, and other detailed engineering documentation.
  • Configure, program, and integrate flow computers, PLCs, and associated control equipment for metering applications.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), ensuring system functionality and compliance.
  • Perform site commissioning, troubleshooting, and start-up support for metering and control systems.
  • Coordinate with clients, project teams, and vendors to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and commissioning personnel.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in metering and control system engineering.
  • Proven experience in flow computer configuration (e.g., Emerson, Omni, Honeywell, etc.) and PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider).
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas metering systems, communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP, OPC, etc.), and instrumentation principles.
  • Hands-on experience in site commissioning and troubleshooting of metering and control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and interpret engineering drawings, FDS, and loop diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Ability to work independently and lead project activities with minimal supervision.Experience with SCADA or DCS integration.
  • Familiarity with API, AGA, ISO, and OIML standards related to metering systems.
  • Certification or training in Functional Safety (IEC 61511 / SIL) or Project Management (PMP) is an advantage.
