Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive cost control strategies to optimize project budgets and minimize financial risks.
- Analyze project expenditure and variances to provide actionable insights for senior management and project teams.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and forecasts that highlight key financial metrics and trends for ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on budgetary expectations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct regular audits of project costs to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
- Maintain a robust database of historical cost data to enhance future budgeting accuracy and forecasting.
- Coordinate with procurement to evaluate supplier contracts and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Train and mentor junior cost control staff to enhance their skills and improve departmental performance.
- Present cost analysis findings to stakeholders, articulating the financial implications of project decisions.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a master's degree is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are essential for credibility.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in cost control or financial analysis, ideally in construction or engineering sectors.
- Experience with large-scale projects and a proven track record of managing complex budgets effectively.
- Proficiency in financial software, such as SAP, Oracle, or advanced Excel for data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with exceptional problem-solving abilities to address financial discrepancies swiftly.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in diverse teams; familiarity with international finance practices is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage for global project coordination.
