Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Draftsman – HVAC specializes in the preparation of HVAC system shop drawings, ductwork layouts, equipment schedules, and coordination drawings. This senior role leads HVAC drafting output and mentors junior team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed HVAC shop drawings including ductwork layouts, equipment plans, sections, and details for AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems, and chilled water distribution.

  • Develop ductwork coordination drawings and resolve clashes with structural, civil, and other MEP services.

  • Prepare equipment schedules, material take-offs, and support procurement with drawing-based quantities.

  • Review and interpret HVAC engineering calculations, specifications, and schematic designs.

  • Manage HVAC drawing register and coordinate revision cycles with the design team.

  • Produce as-built HVAC drawings and support O&M manual compilation.

  • Ensure drawings meet UAE Civil Defence, ASHRAE, and SMACNA standards as applicable.

  • Guide and check junior HVAC draftsmen output for accuracy and completeness.


Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 7–12 years of HVAC drafting experience with a Tier 1 UAE MEP contractor.

  • Advanced AutoCAD MEP skills (mandatory); proficiency in Revit MEP strongly preferred.

  • Deep knowledge of HVAC systems (ducted, chilled water, VRF) and UAE authority requirements.
