The Senior Draughtsman Mechanical plays a critical role in the design and development of mechanical systems and components. This position serves as a bridge between engineering concepts and their actual implementation in projects. The Senior Draughtsman collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all mechanical designs meet project specifications and standards. They are responsible for creating detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical components, systems, and structures, utilizing various CAD software tools. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

• Develop detailed mechanical drawings and designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and design specifications.
• Ensure all mechanical designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other departments to integrate mechanical designs with other project components.
• Maintain an organized database of all drawings and design-related documents.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior draughtsmen and other team members.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations related to mechanical designs.
• Conduct site visits to gather necessary measurements and other technical information.
• Investigate and resolve design issues and conflicts detected during project execution.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, changes, and any design-related issues.
• Continuously update personal knowledge of new developments and software in the field of mechanical draughting.

• Proven experience as a Senior Draughtsman or similar role in mechanical engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce precise and error-free drawings.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
