Roles & Responsibilities

Senior Engineer will Lead the Maintenance Programmes & Configuration team to develop, deliver and optimise the Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP) to ensure compliance to regulatory standards and develop a configuration management programme for aircraft, engine & components. This will include the modification set up process as well as component control and inventory data management including all incoming engines and components which must be fully compliant with all airworthiness regulations and EK policies.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the 3 to 5 years strategic plan of the Maintenance Programmes and Configuration functions for Airbus, Boeing, Engines and Components ensuring compliance control through a regulated airworthiness practices.
  • Lead and continuously develop the modification initial set up process for Airbus, Boeing, Engines and Components ensuring timely and effective implementation in Ultramain (UM) of all Airworthiness Directive (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs) applicable to the Emirates fleet.
  • Lead the team to develop, maintain and continuously improve the Aircraft and Supplemental Maintenance Program (AMP and SMP) to ensure that maintenance is optimized to enable it to be planned and carried out in the most effective and economical way.
  • Manage the relationships with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs), Airbus, Boeing and engine manufacturers to ensure that all Emirates related issues are communicated and where appropriate, incorporated within the revision cycle of the Maintenance Planning Data (MPD) document and Maintenance Review Board Report (MRBR). Responsible for defining and managing internal service level agreements (SLAs) with other supporting departments.
  • Ensure that all tasks including Special Engineering Work Card (SEWC), Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP), Supplementary Maintenance Program (SMP) and Engineering orders (EOs) which are related to the continuous maintainability of the aircraft, engines and its components are assessed and validated to meet the compliance requirements of the OEM and/or regulatory authorities.
  • Accountable for the configuration management policy to ensure that the accurate tracking and tracing of components and maintenance requirements of the fleet is compliant to that policy.
  • Manage, investigate and resolve issues escalated by internal and external customers regarding maintenance programs and compliance and modification management for aircraft, engine and component maintenance. Develop corrective actions for the Maintenance Programmes and Configuration team and propose improvement recommendations for internal and external customers.
  • Monitor and help control the allocated budget to ensure effective utilisation of expenses. Support the departmental budget planning process for the department in line with the known and predicted growth of Emirates Engineering. Be accountable for the team resource plans for the budget year.
  • Monitor and control the departments Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to ensure that the departments' performances is at a high level and continuous improvement programs are in place to improve performance, efficiency and support the delivery of the department strategy.

Desired Candidate Profile

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical subjects/Mechanical/Avionics/Electronic/Technical Engineering or holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licence.
  • Min 10years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance/Engineering with solid experience in technical services or maintenance planning.
  • Proven leadership and managerial experience in a complex, regulated aviation environment.
