JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Title: Senior Finance Manager

Location: Dubai, UAE

Position Summary:

A Finance person (CA) with SAP S/4HANA expertise and manufacturing experience in cement/steel is responsible for driving financial governance, digital transformation, and operational excellence across the enterprise. Their role blends strategic leadership with deep ERP integration and industry-specific cost management.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with manufacturing business goals.
  • Drive profitability analysis using SAP S/4HANA COPA (Controlling & Profitability Analysis).
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and sensitivity analysis for cement and steel operations.
  • Provide executive dashboards and KPI frameworks for decision-making.
  • Financial Modeling (Preparation of Financial, Costing Analysis).

2. SAP S/4HANA Integration & Digital Transformation

  • Oversee end-to-end SAP FICO modules (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Controlling).
  • Ensure integration with MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), and SD (Sales & Distribution) for real-time reporting.
  • Drive automation of accounts receivable, vendor payments, and cost allocation.
  • Lead system enhancements, testing, and process improvements to optimize manufacturing workflows.

3. Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Control

  • Implement production costing models specific to cement and steel industries.
  • Monitor material consumption, wastage, and overhead allocation.
  • Ensure inventory valuation accuracy and compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Use SAP to track plant-level KPIs (capacity utilization, yield, energy costs).

4. Governance, Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure internal controls and statutory compliance across multiple plants.
  • Coordinate with auditors for financial reporting and risk management.
  • Establish governance frameworks for procurement, vendor contracts, and capital projects.
  • Support periodic audits and compliance-related SAP tasks.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with procurement, production, logistics, and sales teams to align financial planning.
  • Provide scenario modeling for expansion, mergers, or restructuring.
  • Mentor finance teams on SAP workflows, dashboard reporting, and governance standards.
  • Act as a bridge between operations and executive leadership.

Industry-Specific Focus (Manufacturing like Cement & Steel)

  • Cement: Manage clinker production costs, kiln efficiency, and raw material procurement.
  • Steel: Oversee blast furnace/rolling mill costing, scrap management, and energy-intensive processes.
  • Both: Drive cost optimization, vendor negotiations, and capital expenditure control.

The Finance Head (CA) in cement/steel or manufacturing industry with SAP S/4HANA expertise is not just a financial controller but a strategic partner in digital transformation, cost efficiency, and governance. They ensure real-time financial visibility, optimize manufacturing economics, and strengthen compliance and stakeholder confidence.
