Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT professional to oversee and manage our core IT infrastructure and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of all critical systems, including data centers, networks, backups, and security platforms. This role combines strategic vendor management, hands-on technical administration, and project support to drive the stability and growth of our IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Management & Disaster Recovery:

  • Perform and manage regular database (DB) backups.
  • Execute backup strategies for servers and VMs, transferring data to NAS and secure offline storage (HDD).
  • Oversee the backup and recovery processes for critical shared data (e.g., master folders).
  • Ensure DR plans are tested and maintained.

2. Security & Compliance Administration:

  • Monitor antivirus (AV) systems, investigate threat alerts, and execute remediation actions.
  • Administer and configure firewall rules and policies based on operational requirements.
  • Manage all SIRA (Security Industry Regulatory Agency)-related compliance work, acting as the primary liaison with security vendors (e.g., Transwall).

3. Vendor & Service Provider Management:

  • Serve as the main point of contact and manager for multiple technology vendors, including those for:
    Weighing scales, POS systems, and peripherals.
    Anti-theft systems (EAS).
    Matrix switches, network, and CCTV infrastructure.
    Cash/coin counting machines.
  • Manage relationships with telecommunications providers (Etisalat/DU), handling new connections, troubleshooting outages, resolving billing issues, and updating related documentation.

4. Infrastructure & Systems Administration:

  • Manage the on-premises data center, including physical servers, SAN, NAS, and network equipment.
  • Deploy new servers, allocate resources, and maintain virtualization (VM) environments.
  • Verify and approve IT purchase requests for hardware, software, and services.

5. Project Support & Operations:

  • Provide IT support for business projects, including new system implementations , store renovations, and new outlet openings.
  • Offer advanced IT Support & Troubleshooting for complex issues escalated from the helpdesk.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar IT systems administration or infrastructure management role.
