The Senior IT Networks Controller is responsible and accountable for setting up the direction, policies, guidelines, roadmap, implementation and maintenance for the PF Network (Wired/Wireless), Data Center, Backup/Disaster Recovery, Messaging, IT Security (ISMS), Anti-SPAM, Anti-Virus, Remote Access / authorization and Virtualization Architecture.
Develops and reviews long term IT Network strategies and action plans in alignment with PF goals; communicates and ensures adherence as required. Plans, develops, and designs network management, maintenance projects, operational improvements, including policies /procedures and evaluates new technology integration.
Reviews, edits and communicates Network systems, policies, controls and processes ensuring they conform to the Industry best practices & recommendations.
Sets goals, develops solutions to improve the effectiveness, viability of PF Networks, applications, software and other technology services to serve PF s current / future needs.
Responsible for day to day operation and administration of PF s IT Network (Wired/Wireless), Servers; E-mail messaging, IT Security, Storage Area Network and Virtual Servers.
Develops, Manages and Implements Network Architecture; Responsible for Design and technology innovation at Layer 0 to 7 architecture development of PF Network. Develops and maintains the future architecture roadmap for network based on service development and demand to support existing and evolving service mix to PF Users.
Updates all IT infrastructure including core/edge switches, servers, firewalls, software applications, internet/Intranet, security systems and desktops.
Designs, implements, maintain, communicate and ensure implementations of PF s wide Disaster Recovery and security Plan for all the networks / Servers / PCs.
Ensures backup jobs and logs are checked on a regular basis to ensure they conform to the D.R. plan requirements. Corporate Data is well protected and is recoverable.
Schedules testing of the disaster recovery plan by restoring all servers on a test server in sequence.
Configures & Installs Communication Services (ADSL / SITA / AFTN / Exchange etc ).
Analyzes, Designs, Implements, Maintains and Secures Wireless Networks within PF as per PF policies and procedures.
Plays the main role in new Network selection for PF based on the IT selection process; reviews requirement identification, oversees implementation, communication and management of corporate applications systems and vendors.
Acts as the project manager for all network related projects, ensures up to date system documentation is performed, reviews projects progress reports and correspondences.
Oversees and reviews the coordination with Network suppliers; supplier correspondence and open issues database; provides reports and suggestions to IT management on timely basis.
Performs quality control on development work to ensure networks are properly tested; updates documentation as required.
Documents findings, submits reports with recommendations and follows up to ensure corrective action is taken.
Oversees and manages network related complaints; records, prioritizes, follows up, reports, resolves or assigns to ensure timely and adequate closures.
Plans, conducts and oversees required network trouble shooting exercises from researching, identifying issues, fixing, escalating, and coordinating internally or externally, following up and reporting as required.
Reviews and ensures regular and accurate updates of the asset management software (to include review of the tagging, filling up forms for new arrivals, updating, relocating, etc ).
Provides technical support and is involved in all requirement identification leading to selection, purchase, implementation, communication and management of corporate network and communication systems and vendors.
Essential: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field
Desirable: Masters Degree in IT
Essential: CCNP, Microsoft Certification with Exchange, ITIL, ISO27001, PMP
Desirable: Firewall Certification
Experience & Knowledge:
Essential: 7 years working experience in a large IT Dept, preferably in the same role
Desirable: 3 years experience in IT Network Controller post
4 years experience in servers, o/s and networking Cabling
LAN Knowledge, Proxy Servers, Networking Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning.
