Job Purpose
Jobs at this
level are responsible for supervising team operations leading towards meeting
internal/external customer technical support needs and furthering the use of
STC s IT products and services. Also, they are responsible for managing
self-contained projects and service streams and overseeing systems activities
to ensure continued efficiencies.
Core
Responsibilities
Application Support:
• Supervise the
development of new systems and techniques to meet STC s stated technical
priorities.
• Arrange business
requirements in a programming sequence by analysing requirements,
preparing a work flow using subject matter expertise in programming
languages and logic.
• Drive the analyses
of existing IT systems and procedures, recommending modification programs
and user procedures to best meet STC s needs.
• Stage and operates
pilot tests, driving the completion of quality and business acceptance
tests.
• Build highly complex
user interface applications and back-end databases using technical
proficiency in various web development tools, programming languages and
scripting languages.
• Provide programming
expertise when required in development and testing of products &
services.
• Monitor and audits
compliance standards, architecture etc. across systems and applications,
identifying appropriate corrective action.
• Pitch business cases
and seeks approval for new technological services that may maximize
profitability for STC.
• Develop user and
technical documentation for the implementation, support and running of
new and/or modified systems.
Generic Role:
• Contribute in analysing and identifying
inadequacies, inefficiencies and problems and recommends appropriate
solutions and detailed engineering specifications for the same.
• Inspect procured/manufactured equipment by performing
quality and factory acceptance tests, to ensure effective quality of
equipment.
• Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and
ensures that the current network/systems meet all established construction
and maintenance agreements.
• Conduct research and feasibility studies on new
equipment and systems, in order to make relevant cost-effective
recommendations to management.
• Coordinate across a number of work units within
the specified area of work, to ensure efficient work flows and accurate
outputs.
• Manage projects and initiatives, as may be
required by the reporting senior.
• Ensure the implementation of approved
technology support policies, processes and procedures so that the
required work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Ensure that the work-processes are implemented
as designed and are in adherence to established standards and
procedures.
• Develop and
supervise the respective team members, if needed, for undertaking higher
responsibilities.
Qualifications/
Certification
• Bachelor s
degree in a Computer Science/Information Technology / Telecommunication
/ Electronics & Communication / Electrical / Computer / Mechanical
Engineering related discipline
• Relevant
certification in Information Technology Service or Infrastructure
Management (ITSM/ITIL) is preferred
• Project
Management Professional (PMP) or any equivalent certification
Years
of Experience
• 6 - 7 Years of experience in the technical
service and maintenance at technology/telecommunication industry
