Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical equipment as per a set schedule, including inspecting, cleaning, and testing components like circuit breakers, motors, and wiring.
  • Basic Troubleshooting: Assist senior technicians in diagnosing and resolving simple electrical faults using tools such as multimeters and voltage testers.
  • Installation Support: Help install new electrical components, conduits, and panels, ensuring all work adheres to safety and quality standards.
  • Documentation: Accurately record maintenance and repair activities in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all electrical safety procedures, including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
  • Complex Troubleshooting: Independently diagnose and repair intricate electrical faults in high-voltage systems, control panels, and other critical electrical infrastructure. This may involve using advanced tools like megohmmeters and infrared thermography.
  • Corrective Maintenance: Lead the repair and replacement of faulty electrical components such as relays, contactors, and motor starters.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, training, and supervision to junior technicians, ensuring their work is accurate and safe.
  • Project Execution: Oversee and execute complex electrical projects, including system upgrades and new installations, from start to finish.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all electrical work adheres to local regulations and safety standards. Conduct regular audits to maintain system integrity and compliance.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with a track record of handling complex projects.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), AC/DC theory, and a wide range of electrical systems. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Certifications: A Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent professional certification is often required.
