Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the tailoring team to achieve consistent high-quality output
- Transform design specifications into perfectly tailored garments
- Oversee cutting, stitching, alterations, and final finishing
- Mentor and train junior tailors, encouraging skill development and efficiency
- Ensure accurate pattern drafting and modifications for client requirements
- Enforce strict quality control standards across tailoring operations
- Collaborate with designers and production teams to bring concepts to life
- Work confidently with various fabrics, from delicate to high-performance materials
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Manage tailoring tools, machinery, and supplies to ensure smooth workflow
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience: 8–15 years in tailoring, including 5+ years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of pattern drafting, garment construction, and fitting.
- Skilled in uniforms, bespoke tailoring, and formal wear.
- Leadership: Proven ability to train, mentor, and manage a tailoring team.
- Attention to Detail: High focus on precision, finish, and garment quality.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of handling complex alterations and unique client requirements.
- Adaptability: Comfortable balancing traditional tailoring skills with modern techniques and machinery.
- Portfolio: Must have a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality tailoring work.
- Education: Relevant tailoring or fashion qualification preferred.
- Work Ethic: Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
