Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex mechanical systems, encompassing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, by meticulously analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope documents.

  • Lead the bidding process by preparing comprehensive proposals, including detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and company profitability goals.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope, identify potential risks, and optimize cost-saving opportunities throughout the estimation phase.

  • Source and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors, fostering strong relationships to secure competitive bids and ensure the timely procurement of materials and services.

  • Review & analyse MEP drawings, specification, and complete Tender documents

  • Perform Quantity take-off using software like AutoCAD, Plan swift, Candy etc.

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQ and proposals

  • Co-ordinate with suppliers and Subcontractors for quotations

  • Support and Manage Tender process with Technical and Commercial inputs

  • Maintain updated project cost databases and documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.

  • Candidates are to be familiar with local codes, standards and methods of measurements

  • Professional Estimator Certification (e.g., AACE International) is highly desirable.

  • Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in mechanical estimating, with a proven track record on large-scale commercial and industrial projects.

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and their installation processes.

  • Software knowledge of CCS Candy, Plan Swift is mandatory.
