Senior Mechanical Technician is authorized to assemble company products as per approved drawings and specifications. Technician reports to the Assembly Supervisor.
A. Role Requirements
To be familiar with NOV Elmar products and fully conversant with their assembly/disassembly and fault finding;
Be proficient in the use of all components, equipment, tools and techniques used in a Mechanical/Hydraulic/Electrical workshop.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
Perform equipment installations, testing, and modifications.
Ability to deal with software loading.
Experience with hydraulic systems with knowledge of pumps, valves and common connections, along with system requirements with regards to flow and pressure.
Knowledge of internal combustion engines.
Ability to read, create & mark up Electrical and Hydraulic schematics and Mechanical drawings.
Have detailed knowledge of LV/HV, AC and DC circuits.
Have detailed knowledge of Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous operating environments and the equipment types and functions dedicated to these environments.
To ensure that NOV Elmar products are repaired/maintained to the highest possible standard.
To be available to travel to customer sites at remote locations including offshore on a when required basis.
To correctly fill in all details on the time sheets.
Work in an orderly and tidy manner.
Maintain good upkeep of the company's equipment, reporting any losses or breakages to your supervisor and keeping items locked when not in use.
Represent the organization in a responsible and professional manner
To engage in any other activities as requested by the department supervisor.

Stop work immediately if you have any safety concerns over the task and discuss with a Supervisor.

- min. 5 years of industrial experience
- Experienced in Hydraulic Tubing/plumbing
- Experienced in Electrical Wiring
- Past experience with NOV Elmar products is an asset
- Past experience in assembling/servicing diesel engines
