The Senior Network Engineer is an integral part of any organization's IT infrastructure team, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network systems. This role demands a high level of expertise in network technologies, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the ability to continuously improve network efficiency and security. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will lead initiatives to integrate new technologies and enhancements into existing network infrastructures, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and security. You will work closely with other IT professionals, including system administrators and software developers, to support organizational goals through robust network configurations and operations. This position requires both technical acumen and excellent communication skills, as you will be expected to present solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network solutions to meet organizational needs and requirements.
• Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement improvements promptly.
• Conduct network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Lead network project initiatives and manage the deployment of new technologies.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems.
• Ensure network security by configuring firewalls, VPNs, and other protective measures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior network engineering staff.
• Prepare detailed documentation for network configurations, changes, and processes.
• Respond to network-related incidents and manage disaster recovery procedures.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships to support network hardware and software solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies for potential integration.
• Develop and implement policies for network administration and usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in network engineering or related roles.
• Proven expertise with networking technologies such as routers, switches, and wireless.
• Strong knowledge of network security protocols and encryption technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in network analysis.
