Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals, ensuring optimal supplier selection and cost efficiency.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, reliability, and financial stability.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery, and quality standards.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations, initiating corrective actions when necessary to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering and production, to understand material requirements and ensure timely procurement.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications for audit and compliance purposes.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improve procurement processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to inform procurement strategies and decision-making.
- Facilitate supplier relationship management to foster strong partnerships and drive continuous improvement in supply chain performance.
- Lead and mentor junior procurement staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development and procurement activities.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant procurement experience in a technical or engineering environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of material requirements.
- Certifications such as Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are highly desirable.
- Experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction, or oil and gas, showcasing familiarity with the specific procurement challenges in these sectors.
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and supplier management, with tangible results in cost savings and quality improvements.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French) is a significant advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, perform cost analysis, and develop strategic procurement insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, with experience in guiding and mentoring junior procurement professionals.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
