The Senior Project Engineer leads and executes manufacturing projects for new and re-engineered components, ensuring technical compliance, quality, and on-time delivery. They bridge design and manufacturing by developing optimized processes, resolving manufacturability issues, and coordinating with vendors and suppliers. The role demands strong project management, technical expertise in machining and fabrication, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Key Responsibilities
Project Management

Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing projects for new or re-engineered components and assemblies.

Develop project timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans.

Track progress against schedules and report status to leadership.

Engineering Support
-
Translate engineering drawings and specifications into actionable manufacturing processes and work instructions.
-
Support first-article builds, ensuring compliance with design intent, API standards, and internal quality requirements.

Collaborate with design engineers to resolve manufacturability issues and improve product design.

Process Development & Optimization
-
Develop and validate manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, assembly, and testing.
-
Identify process improvements to reduce cost, lead time, and rework while improving product reliability and quality.

Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for manufacturing issues.

Vendor & Supply Chain Interface

Work closely with regional vendors to ensure manufacturing readiness and adherence to technical specifications.

Support supplier qualification, audits, and capability assessments.
-
Manage technical communication between engineering and vendors.
-

Quality & Compliance
-
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with applicable standards (e.g., API 8C, ISO 9001).

Participate in inspections, FATs, and first-article reviews to ensure conformance to design.

Support non-conformance investigation and documentation.

Documentation & Reporting
-
Prepare technical reports, project trackers, and manufacturing documentation.

Maintain accurate records of project milestones, lessons learned, and cost performance.

The employee is responsible for performing duties in accordance with the company's policies, procedures, and quality objectives

The employee has the necessary authority to make decisions within their scope of work and escalate issues as needed and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness.

The employee is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of their work, as well as for reporting any nonconformities or risks that may impact quality, legal compliances, safety, environment, or customer satisfaction.

Support and participate on achieving organizational QHSE objectives.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience: 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or project engineering (preferably in heavy equipment, oilfield, or industrial machinery).

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.

Familiarity with design standards (API, ASME) and quality systems.

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
-
Understanding of ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling.

Soft Skills:
-
Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
-
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred candidate that holds a PMP certification.
-
Possess advanced CAD and ERP system proficiency.
