Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the entire project lifecycle for power generation, transmission, or distribution projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, while proactively managing risks and issues.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and clear communication.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and contractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards, while mitigating potential disputes.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting successes and areas needing attention.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality control measures, and project specifications, proactively addressing any non-compliance.
  • Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis, while identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and permitting requirements throughout the project lifecycle, minimizing potential delays or penalties.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential issues and minimize their impact on project delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, providing clear and concise updates and addressing concerns promptly.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, providing a strong technical foundation for power projects.
  • Holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, demonstrating a commitment to project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management within the power industry, showcasing a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrates experience in managing projects related to power generation, transmission, or distribution, showcasing relevant industry knowledge.
  • Has a strong understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, including IEEE, IEC, and local regulatory requirements, ensuring project compliance.
  • Exhibits advanced proficiency in project management software, such as MS Project or Primavera P6, streamlining project planning and execution.
  • Possesses exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling the candidate to address complex project challenges effectively.
  • Shows a proven ability to manage project budgets, control costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities, ensuring financial success.
  • Exhibits a proactive and results-oriented approach, with a strong commitment to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
