This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior QA/QC Engineer (Mechanical) to support our project controls team. This is a residential position in Sharjah, with possible travel to Iraq for Business trips as and when required.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an International Client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as Supply Chain, Construction and Commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.

Projects include both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client’s energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

This position reports directly to the Lead QA/QC Engineer taking day-to-day. The role is accountable for providing Quality and inspection resources, systems, and processes to support in Pre-order and Post order, Procurement activities for various projects.

Promotion of both the WOOD & Client Core values

Maintain & implement Project Quality Plans, Quality Strategies, and Objectives

Provide support to Lead for quality estimates for QA/QC project deliverables and inspection of procurement packages.

Regular quality reporting as required

Ensure the maintenance, documentation, and deployment of the project management system

Ensure implementation of risk-based audit programs

Plan and Participate in External/internal projects and vendors/ suppliers audits

Conduct site quality leadership surveillance visits, as required

Provide input to contract quality risk registers

Support Lead QA/QC for corrective actions by approving new actions and verifying action closure, if required.

Support in carrying out root cause analysis of project nonconformities

Capture client feedback and monitor resulting improvement actions

Ensure the deployment of a robust criticality assessment process throughout projects

Verify the inspection level of products/materials
