Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, encompassing all project phases, from inception to completion, ensuring accuracy and competitive pricing.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying potential financial exposures and implementing mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage and administer contracts, including the preparation of payment applications, change orders, and variations, protecting the company's financial interests.
- Oversee the preparation and negotiation of subcontract agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors.
- Provide expert advice on cost-saving opportunities and value engineering initiatives, maximizing project profitability.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including cost forecasts and budget performance analysis, to stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, assess work quality, and verify quantities, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
- Resolve contractual disputes and claims, negotiating settlements and minimizing financial impact.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and seamless project execution.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Holds professional certifications such as MRICS or equivalent, demonstrating commitment to industry standards.
- Demonstrates a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Exhibits extensive experience in the construction industry, with a focus on infrastructure or building projects.
- Proficient in using relevant software such as CostX, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrates a proactive and results-oriented approach, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of quantity surveyors.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities. Language Requirements: Fluency in English is mandatory.
