Roles & Responsibilities

Position tittle: Senior Safety Officer

Tentative start date: 01/01/2026

Contract duration: 24 months

Normal Working Days: 5 days per week

Work Location: Onshore - Doha & Ras Laffan

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of experience including at least 8 years of experience as a HSEQ / SHE&S professional, loss prevention and industrial safety, with at least 2 FEED projects executed within the last 8 years.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, HSEQ management of FEED and EPC projects, engineering, construction and commissioning projects, systems completions coordination, hook up/commissioning, and start up activities in brownfield and greenfield environment.
  • Experience in implementation of HSEQ systems and building HSEQ capability and competence in a new project starting from FEED phase up to EPC phase including detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start up.
  • Good understanding of both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques. Experience of active participation in process safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, fire & explosion, dispersion modelling and FERA/QRA studies.
  • Ability to develop, review and monitor FEED drawings/documents and communicate with other engineers is essential.
  • Experience with contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge in developing and implementing Emergency Response Procedures to deal with H2S Risk to the workers.
  • Experience in active participation of workers welfare programmes
  • Experience in development and maintenance of Project HSE Risk Registers.
  • Experience in providing Safety Leadership to large contractors workforce to drive proactive safety culture and Safety KPIs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor s Degree in Science or Engineering, or Safety discipline.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must have the ability to network with other Safety Teams and Company- Loss Prevention discipline.
  • Good knowledge of hazard identification software s (e.g. PHAPro), consequence modelling software (e.g. PHAST), or other software (e.g. Pipenet).
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English with ability to produce procedures and technical reports.
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point.
