Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric illnesses, ensuring accurate and timely treatment for children of all ages.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and order necessary diagnostic tests, interpreting results to formulate effective treatment plans.
  • Provide expert consultation to other healthcare professionals on pediatric cases, offering guidance and support in complex situations.
  • Administer vaccinations and preventive care, promoting child health through immunization and proactive health management.
  • Educate parents and caregivers on child health, nutrition, and disease prevention, empowering them to make informed decisions.
  • Participate in emergency response and critical care situations, providing immediate medical attention to critically ill children.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and ethical standards.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including residents and interns, fostering a learning environment.
  • Contribute to departmental research and quality improvement initiatives, advancing pediatric care practices.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality, building trust with families and the community.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a medical degree (MBBS) and a postgraduate degree in Pediatrics (MD/DNB).
  • Demonstrates strong clinical skills in diagnosing and treating pediatric illnesses, with proven expertise.
  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with children and their families.
  • Proficient in performing pediatric procedures, such as lumbar punctures and intravenous cannulation.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of child development and behavioral health.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
  • Adheres to ethical principles and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Must be fluent in English and the local language, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
