This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Safety Engineer experienced with a proven track record in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, assessing risks, and implementing measures to prevent incidents and safeguard processes in engineering projects for a high-profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:

• Identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures to prevent accidents.
• Developing programs and policies to instill a strong safety mindset across the organization.
• Conducting analyses like HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) to enhance safety in design and operations.
• Investigating safety incidents and ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Fully responsible for engineering solutions to produce detailed design and specifications
• Review and approve of deliverables prepared by other HSE Engineers within the HSE group
• Being accountable for the quality of Technical Safety deliverables
• Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
• Participating in audits and incident investigations as required
• Ensure that all project Health, Safety and Environmental policies are complied with
• Ensure that design meets all Technical Safety requirements and maintains risks to as low as reasonably practicable
• Achieving project completion to the project specifications on schedule
• Participating in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required and experience of coordinating HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Classification studies and other HSE workshops
• Management of third party HSE consultants in the execution of engineering delivery/HSE workshops
• Preparation of Tender Bid Evaluations and assessment of bids for procured fire and safety equipment, participate in vendor meetings

Expected:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering / Loss Prevention/ Environmental or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of eight (8+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCC region
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers
• Must have strong FEED, Pre-FEED experience in Offshore projects, whilst ADNOC experience is desired
• Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent experience is an added advantage
• Expert in own discipline knowledge requirements to provide support to the business
• Experience of working on concept & FEED project phases
• Have involvement in Conceptual studies for Fields developments projects
• Experience in mega projects developments
