Roles & Responsibilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Operations, design, implementation, and maintenance of our Unix SOLARIS & Linux infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices
  • Install, configure, and maintain Unix-based systems, SOLARIS and Linux systems.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure security and performance
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, including system crashes and application failures
  • Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and access controls to protect system integrity
  • Create and manage user accounts and permissions
  • Define and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for Unix SOLARIS system administration, security, and compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and optimization
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in Unix administration, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Perform other responsibilities as required by higher levels of supervision
  • Good with performance tuning and Migrations of systems.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred from an accredited university
  • 8+ years of experience as Unix SOLARIS & Linux Administrator or in a similar role, with demonstrated expertise in managing complex Unix environment for lead level
  • A minimum of Four (4) years of experience in UNIX SOLARIS administration or a related field for Specialist level
