Job Purpose:
Cater to Wealth Management portfolio (Private Banking
Services and Priority Banking Services) up to KD 150M and carry out credit
reviews to ensure risk exposure is within GB s appetite for risk.
Business Specific
- Independent Credit Assessment:
Conduct independent credit risk assessments on applications, prepare and review Industry and market analysis
- Quality Control:
Conduct quality checks on credit applications to ensure they
meet requirements of credit committees etc.
Focus on lending product programs and data management;
ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or
re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and
processes with existing ones.
- Portfolio reviews/Monitoring:
Carry out effective and comprehensive portfolio
reviews/monitoring/servicing of medium and large private relationships
(individual and corporate).
- Operate Within Approved Wealth Management Risk Appetite:
Preparation, write-up and review of credit applications while
ensuring that all credit applications and portfolio management is within
approved risk appetite.
Write-up and review of credit memos, reports and analysis of
new products and services. Proposing to increase/amend/decrease/release
mortgage/release collateral/restructure facilities etc.
Support to Relationship Managers and align efforts to meet
customer and business needs
Manage relationships and expectations by developing a
communication process to keep management up-to-date on project results
- Account/Covenant Monitoring:
Monitor accounts and repayment of loans
Leadership & People Management:
- Exhibit strong leadership by managing performance; articulating
ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and other; developing and motivating
staff; identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the
resolution of issues and holding self and team accountable for results.
- Allocate work to reportees, nominate staff for training as
per Gulf Banks s guidelines and manage leave and overtime to ensure efficiency.
Policies & Procedures:
- Implementing approved departmental policies, processes,
procedures and providing instructions to subordinates and monitoring their adherence
so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Corporate Governance:
- Ensure full compliance with all CBK, GB operational
procedures, Risk and AML policies and procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education, Knowledge & Experience:
Finance, Accounting
Knowledge of the Banking industry, risk management and all
regulations governing the banking business e.g. CBK, Basel III.
years of experience in the banking industry, of which at least 3 years in
credit or risk management.
