Roles & Responsibilities
About the Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic results-driven Service Manager – Electromechanical Infrastructure to manage third-party service providers responsible for critical infrastructure across multiple data center locations. The role focuses on ensuring high-availability support for power, cooling, and facility systems through Altron Service team and vendor oversight, SLA management, and coordination across diverse operational environments.
Role & Responsibilities
Service Performance Management:
Manage and coordinate Internal service team along with multiple vendors delivering electromechanical infrastructure services (e.g., UPS, HVAC, diesel generators, fire suppression) across all data center sites.
Monitor and enforce SLAs, KPIs, and contract terms, ensuring consistent service quality and compliance.
Conduct regular service reviews and audits, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions.
Operations Oversight:
Oversee execution of preventive and corrective maintenance for critical systems across multiple sites.
Ensure consistent operational procedures, reporting, and escalation protocols across locations.
Act as the primary escalation point for service disruptions or infrastructure incidents.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure vendor adherence to industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ASHRAE, ISO 27001, ISO 50001).
Maintain documentation and ensure vendor activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Participate in risk assessments and support continuity and disaster recovery planning related to infrastructure.
Coordination & Stakeholder Communication:
Liaise between data center teams and external service providers to align infrastructure operations with business needs.
Report performance metrics, risks, and incidents to senior stakeholders and executive leadership. Collaborate with procurement and legal teams on contract negotiations and renewals.
Business Development & Revenue Growth:
Work closely with sales teams to identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities within service offerings.
Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and solution design for service elements in collaboration with the pre-sales team.
Develop and refine service offerings based on market demand and client feedback.
Project & Change Management:
Oversee vendor-led infrastructure upgrades, installations, and retrofits.
Ensure standardized change management practices across sites to minimize disruption.
Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field.
5+ years’ experience managing Customer relationships in data center or mission critical environments.
Proven experience managing electromechanical systems (power, cooling, HVAC, fire suppression, BMS)
Strong knowledge of service management frameworks and tools (e.g., DCIM).
Ability to manage multiple sites and vendors across regions.
Excellent organizational, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel to data center locations as required.
Preferred qualifications
Certifications in data center facility operations (e.g., Uptime ATS/ASE, BICSI, PMP, NFPA) is a plus.
Experience with multi-tenant, data center environments.
Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability best practices for data centers.
