SHARE JOB ROLE PURPOSE: The role is required in order to ensure technical quality of the Shelter and NFI programming at field-level. The Shelter Technician will be responsible for conducting technical assessments, technical monitoring and supervision and providing technical advice to beneficiaries and communities. The Shelter Technician will spend 60 to 80% of their time in the field, and 20 to 40 % in the office preparing BOQ and Drawings. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Shelter Officer KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: • Conduct technical assessments of existing shelters, buildings, and Informal Settlements • Develop technical proposals and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates including material, labour and transportation requirements • Prepare technical drawings, where required • Conduct regular site visits to supervise and/or monitor progress and quality • Support all technical aspects of quality control • Conduct regular visits to beneficiaries • Attend and support distributions (if needed) • Conduct Post Activity Monitoring • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports, as requested. • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
