Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Signage & Wayfinding Design Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary design team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong command of wayfinding strategy and signage design, combined with an understanding of user behavior, spatial psychology, and visitor journey mapping, particularly within large-scale, mixed-use community developments. You will be responsible for delivering cohesive and fully integrated signage and wayfinding systems that enhance navigation, reinforce project identity, and create intuitive visitor experiences across complex developments. A consultancy background is preferred, and GCC project experience is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and review comprehensive signage and wayfinding strategies tailored to the scale, typology, and visitor journey requirements of each development.

  • Apply user behavior analysis, visitor journey mapping, and experiential wayfinding principles to design navigation systems that are intuitive and spatially responsive.

  • Prepare and coordinate signage location plans, message schedules, design intent drawings, fabrication details, and full technical packages.

  • Coordinate signage and wayfinding design across architecture, interior design, landscape, lighting, branding, and MEP disciplines to ensure full integration and design consistency.

  • Review all signage typologies including directional, identification, regulatory, parking, emergency, and building directory systems.

  • Ensure signage design complies with project requirements, local authority regulations, brand guidelines, and accessibility standards including ADA, universal design, and inclusive design principles.

  • Coordinate with signage fabricators, suppliers, consultants, and contractors to confirm material selection, fixing systems, lighting integration, and site feasibility.

  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, prototypes, mock-ups, and installation details for design compliance and quality.

  • Support site inspections, installation coordination, testing, and final project handover.

  • Ensure the completed wayfinding system improves circulation, legibility, safety, and the overall visitor experience — particularly within large-scale community and mixed-use environments.

  • Manage multiple concurrent project deliverables while maintaining design standards and programme commitments.

  • Explore the application of AI tools in wayfinding strategy development, documentation, and design coordination workflows.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Relevant experience in signage design, wayfinding strategy, environmental graphics, and branding coordination.

  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale community developments, mixed-use environments, hospitality, retail, public realm, and high-rise projects.

  • Understanding of user behavior, visitor journey mapping, spatial psychology, and experiential wayfinding principles.

  • Knowledge of ADA, universal accessibility, and inclusive design standards is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of signage materials, fabrication methods, typography, mounting systems, lighting integration, and accessibility requirements.

  • Familiarity with integrated wayfinding strategies that address both physical signage and digital/interactive navigation elements.

  • Experience in GCC/UAE/KSA projects is preferred; familiarity with regional authority requirements and standards is an advantage.

  • Strong coordination, communication, multidisciplinary collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Consultancy background preferred.
