Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Social Studies Teacher to deliver engaging lessons in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics. The ideal candidate should have strong subject knowledge, effective teaching strategies, and the ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking in students.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning:
- Deliver curriculum-based lessons in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics to students of [mention grade levels].
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the prescribed syllabus (CBSE/ICSE/State Board).
- Use innovative and interactive teaching methodologies to make SST concepts relatable and engaging.
- Encourage critical thinking, debate, and discussion in the classroom.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Prepare and administer tests, quizzes, and assignments.
- Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and provide regular feedback.
Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning.
- Manage student behavior effectively and enforce discipline policies fairly.
Curriculum & Resource Planning:
- Participate in curriculum planning and review meetings.
- Develop and curate teaching materials, visual aids, and supplementary content (e.g., maps, timelines).
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance the learning experience.
Parent and School Engagement:
- Attend parent-teacher meetings to discuss academic progress and address concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues, academic coordinators, and school leadership for cross-disciplinary learning.
Professional Development:
- Engage in regular training and development programs.
- Stay updated with changes in the SST curriculum and pedagogy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, or related discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).
- 2–5 years of teaching experience preferred (freshers may be considered with strong subject knowledge).
- Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE/State Board curriculum.
