Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

This role is focused on the integrity of all non-structural and structural materials against the harsh offshore environment. The Specialist acts as the technical authority for material selection, corrosion prevention, and inspection strategies.

  • Materials Selection - Develop, review, and approve the Material Selection Philosophy (MSP) and material specifications for all offshore equipment, piping, and pipelines, considering fluid composition, temperature, and pressure.
  • Corrosion Control - Design and specify Corrosion Control Systems, including Cathodic Protection (CP) (sacrificial anode and impressed current systems) for hulls, jacket, and subsea pipelines. Specify and manage the use of Corrosion Inhibitors.
  • Coatings & Insulation - Develop and approve specifications for protective coatings, linings, and passive fire protection (PFP) systems for all metallic and concrete structures and equipment.
  • Integrity Management - Develop and implement Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and Integrity Management strategies to ensure the long-term reliability and safe operation of the offshore assets
  • Technical Governance - Provide specialist technical reviews and sign-off on vendor documents and third-party engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with international codes (NACE/AMPP, API, ASME) and project standards.
  • Failure Analysis - Conduct and review Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any material degradation or corrosion-related failures.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum Overall 17+ years of experience in Oil and Gas`.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position for international Oil &Gas projects.
  • Strong expertise in all aspects of EPC / Detail Engineering activities specially in Offshore Oil & gas sector.
  • Experience in ADNOC Offshore projects will be an added advantage
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is a pre- requisite for the role.
