Overview
The opportunity

In this role, you will actively contribute to knowledge sharing sessions with partners, define and conduct user satisfaction surveys, and develop actionable improvement plans based on tracked survey parameters, participants, and frequency. You ll participate in GO/NO-GO decisions and raise alerts when necessary, ensuring that the knowledge base and training materials including Jive and the known error database are consistently updated and accessible in a structured, centralized location. By anticipating knowledge gaps and proposing action plans for continuous improvement, you ll help maintain efficiency and stability in production, all while adhering to best practices and adapting to autonomous feature teams. Your responsibilities also include understanding proposed solutions, identifying configuration tasks, and gathering implementation requirements. You must have hands-on experience deploying SMAX and its components, integrating them across Windows and Linux environments, and providing SMAX application administration, tailoring, and L2/L3 support. Experience with Micro Focus SMAX, Open Text Asset Management (AMx), and other ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow is essential, along with working knowledge of importing data, configuring workflow rules, notifications, approval definitions, custom actions, and creating custom tables, fields, and forms. Skills in PostgreSQL, REST API, installation and integration using OPB, Java Scripting, Python scripting, and troubleshooting SMAX integrations including Integration Hub and On Premises Bridge Agent are also required, ensuring robust and effective service management automation.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to understand proposed solutions and identify tasks for configurations.
  • Must have the ability to gather requirements for implementations.
  • Must have hands-on experience in full deployment of SMAX and its components along with its integration both on Windows and Linux
  • Minimum of 4-5 years working experience on Micro Focus Service Management Automation X (SMAX), Open Text Asset Management (AMx) and other ITSMs like ServiceNow etc.
  • Experienced in SMAX application administration, tailoring, and L2/L3 level support for internal or external users, experience working with Micro Focus SMAX R&D on applying hot fixes for fixing L3 issues would be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge on Importing Data, configuring -- workflow rules, notifications, Approval definitions, custom actions, creating custom tables, fields, forms.
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and REST API, Installation and Integration using OPB
  • Able to write and trouble shoot Java Scripting/Python scripts.
  • Trouble shooting SMAX integrations Integration Hub, On Premises Bridge Agent etc.
  • Must have the ability to create document sets like Implementation and Configuration Guide, SOP, RCA, Health Checklist, Training Manuals and User Guides
  • Must be a specialist in integrations such as OPTIC, Integration Hub, UCMDB, OMI, AM, LDAP, Email (Inbound and Outbound)
  • Must have knowledge in integration using Web services (SOAP and RESTAPI)
  • Must have specialized skills on JavaScripts, Basics and SQL Queries and use them in SM implementation.
  • Must have hands on experience on using upgrade utility and handling upgrades (Minimum 1 Full upgrade project)
  • Must have hands on experience on implementing SSL and SSO
  • Must be a specialist in configuring using Process Designer, JavaScript, Document engine, SMIS, Web services, Triggers, Wizards, Macros, Format, Format Control, Links, Display Option and Display Screens

Qualifications

Required skills / qualifications

  • Proven experience with service manager/SMAX, service mapping & CMDB, event management, Operations Orchestrator
  • Experienced in SMAX application administration, tailoring, and L2/L3 level support for internal or external users, experience working with Micro Focus SMAX R&D on applying hot fixes for fixing L3 issues would be an added advantage.
  • Any ITSM Tool Automation Suite, Operations Bridge, Network Operations Management Suite, Universal Discovery
  • Strong understanding of ITIL
  • Must be Certified in ITIL foundation V4 or SM 9.X/SMAX Software
  • Strong understanding of Open Text OPTIC DL.
  • Strong understanding of MS SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle DB.
