Roles & Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Devise a vision and long-term strategy to grow the investment solutions business into a key offering and establish and maintain the core investment philosophy and customer experience values.
  • Lead a team of investment professionals that represent NBF s investment solutions principles and values set-forth in the strategy and vision. And to strive to develop team capabilities, meet Emiratization targets and foster an environment that supports innovation, career development, and high performance.
  • Collaborate with senior management, segment heads, and other stakeholders to set the appropriate strategies, lead initiatives to commercialize investment solutions, and develop the necessary infrastructure across all functions of the business. Then regularly provide updates to stakeholders to receive feedback and discuss opportunities.
  • Set the appropriate budget, targets, and KPIs of the unit in line with the overall Department budget and KPIs.
  • Position the bank in the market place as a responsible provider of investment products and solutions, while keeping in line with the Bank s overall positioning and segment focused strategy. This will enhance fee income generation and increase client cross sell and stickiness.
  • Work interdependently, collaboratively, and effectively with other bank departments and teams to maximise business opportunities, and raise overall Bank Brand equity.

Investment Management

  • Monitor the performance of the investment solutions offering versus the benchmarks and ensure alignment to the targeted risk/return objectives. Monitor the efficient and effective implementation of strategy, policies, guidelines, procedures and compliance for the different areas of IM department functions to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, compliance, internal and external audit, industry codes of conduct and the bank s overall risk appetite.
  • Prepare customized investment proposals for clients based on need analysis, suitability, and risk reward profiles.
  • Continuously research the market, engage with asset managers, and conduct due diligence on existing and potential investment solutions.
  • Provide specialised product support through the specialised IM team to the client coverage teams in the various segments for effective delivery of investment solutions

Product Management

  • Oversee the product management cycle from idea generation, infrastructure setup, execution, and post-transaction monitoring.
  • Set the appropriate SOPs and processes to ensure smooth transactions and work flow of the department and strive to reduce operational difficulties.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to initiate marketing campaigns to enhance the investment solutions product visibility and brand

Client Coverage

  • Lead the investment solutions placement by actively working with Business units and segment heads to set forth commercialization strategies and identify potential opportunities and leads
  • Directly engage with HNWI and Corporate clients to manage the investment advisory relation and conduct portfolio reviews and portfolio strategy updates when required
  • Develop the internal placement capabilities of the RMs by conducting the required training to help RMs identify and qualify leads for investment solutions. Conduct regular Investment / Product trainings to provide product knowledge to RMs across segments to improve potential business
  • Deliver seminars and webinars to external customer to increase financial awareness and position NBF as thought-leaders in the market.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance and maintain a satisfactory customer experience throughout the client journey from onboarding to post-transaction reporting and explore digitalization possibilities where applicable.

Staff Management

  • Manage HR issues with the team (escalate to HoTS when necessary) Support, develop and grow staff through training, coaching and mentoring. Follow a fair and time bound performance management process. Maintain and grow emiratization in the department.

Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements, while always exercising high degree of fiduciary responsibility.

Desired Candidate Profile

An ideal candidate should have following qualifications

  • CISI certification:1. International Certification on Wealth & Investments management2. Global Securities3. Risk in Financial Services4. UAE Financial Rules and RegulationsOr a CFA qualificationWork Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in senior investment advisor or wealth management capacity that has performed a financial planning or investment advisory role with the ability to manage a multi-cultural client portfolio.
  • Expert in financial markets, strategic asset allocation, and investment advisory.Proven track record in meeting set financial goals Strong knowledge in operations matters related to investment management. Capable of managing a team of wealth managers or investment advisors.Experience of operating in the UAE or the region is a big advantage.
