Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary


KN International is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to support the client in supervising, coordinating, and ensuring quality and compliance of mechanical works in residential villas and associated infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive construction supervision experience in the UAE or similar environment, with strong technical expertise, leadership, and client communication skills.


The role involves providing technical oversight, monitoring contractor performance, implementing safety standards, and managing all mechanical installations from mobilization through handover and defects liability period.


Key Responsibilities


Take overall responsibility for the technical execution and supervision of mechanical works, including MEP systems, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utilities.

Provide senior-level site supervision and technical guidance for mechanical installations across villas, infrastructure, and utility works.

Review, interpret, and ensure compliance with IFC drawings, specifications, authority standards, and contractual obligations.

Monitor contractor activities, assess work quality, and report non-conformances (NCRs).

Review and verify contractor submissions, including shop drawings, method statements, materials submittals, test reports, and O&M manuals.

Conduct site inspections, witness testing/commissioning, and ensure mechanical systems meet design, quality, and safety requirements.

Coordinate with contractors, authorities, utilities, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.

Implement and enforce HSE requirements, safe working practices, and environmental controls.

Support project controls, including progress tracking, reporting, and coordination meetings.

Assist in handover, snagging, final inspections, and monitoring during the defects liability period.

Maintain accurate technical documentation, site records, and inspection logs.


Required Qualifications & Skills


Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred).

Professional Engineering (PE) license in the UAE is preferred.

Minimum 10 years of relevant construction supervision experience in the UAE or similar environment.

Previous experience with Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) projects preferred.

Strong leadership, team coordination, and client-facing skills.

Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utilities systems.

Proficiency in project management software and engineering tools.

In-depth knowledge of UAE local regulations, codes, and industry standards.

Proven track record in managing and delivering large-scale residential and infrastructure projects.

Willingness to work on remote sites in Liwa, Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi.
