Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the full commercial management of assigned projects including contract administration, valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
Prepare, negotiate, and agree interim payment applications (IPAs) with clients and main contractors.
Identify, substantiate, and negotiate variations and claims; manage EOT (Extension of Time) submissions and contractual notices.
Manage and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors and junior commercial staff.
Review and negotiate subcontract terms, payment applications, and final accounts for all subcontract packages.
Prepare detailed project cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow analyses for commercial management review.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities; provide proactive commercial advice to project management teams.
Attend client, consultant, and progress meetings as GESCO's commercial representative.
Review contract documents, project specifications, and BOQs for commercial implications prior to project execution.
Prepare and manage final account submissions; negotiate final settlements with clients and subcontractors.
Ensure full compliance with contract terms, notice requirements, and commercial procedures.
Support tendering activities including BOQ review, commercial risk assessment, and value engineering input.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
10-15 years of QS experience with a Tier 1 UAE MEP or building contractor.
In-depth knowledge of FIDIC (Red, Yellow, Silver Books), NEC, and UAE standard forms of contract.
Proven track record of successfully managing final accounts and claims on UAE construction projects.
Advanced proficiency in CostX, Candy, Primavera P6, and Aconex/Procore.
MRICS (RICS Member) or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Solid understanding of UAE construction law, dispute resolution mechanisms, and authority requirements.
