Duties and Responsibilities:
2.1 Professional Responsibilities
2.1.1 Assess, plan, provides and evaluates nursing care to intra-partum and post-partum cases. Responsible for directing an immediate care during delivery, administration of medication, IV infusion, blood transfusion for the restoration of health for antenatal and post-partum patients.
2.1.2 Gives support to the Head Nurse in Delivery Room, strictly adheres to the unit policies and procedures.
2.1.3 Assess the patient and determine deviations from normal during the process of labor and post-partum period.
2.1.4 Plan and implement quality patient care by making use of available resources.
2.1.5 Performs a variety of supportive and technical nursing skills and utilizes a range of equipment and procedures appropriate to the diagnosis and management of complicated obstetric patients with the direction of obstetrician.
2.1.6 Established priorities based on the mother and newborn needs, and participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency situation.
2.1.7 Responsible in administration of medication, IV therapy, blood transfusion and infusion pumps.
2.1.8 Assume the responsibility in the nursing unit when assigned as charge nurse for a tour of duty.
2.1.9 Record accurately applying the general principles of nursing documentation.
2.1.10 Assess self-learning needs and attends in-service and continuing education program with latest trends in nursing.
2.1.11 As a nurse provides the necessary education and information to patient and family including patient's response documented in the patient's file according to their level of understanding.
2.1.12 Signs confidentiality agreement and adheres to confidentiality of the information pertinent to patient and their family, the institution and the hospital.
2.2 Administrative Responsibilities:
2.2.1 Participates in the unit meetings and nursing committees as needed to make positive organizational change.
2.3 Quality Responsibilities
2.3.1 Observe standard precaution and follow infection control policies.
2.3.2 Observe the departmental & hospital-wide policies and procedures.
2.3.3 Complies with the patient rights & responsibilities according to the hospital policy.
2.3.4 Participates in all quality management activities within the department/unit.
2.3.5 Observe standard precautions for infection control & implements the IC guidelines in his/her day to day activities.
2.3.6 Participates in the hospital internal & external disaster plans according to assigned responsibilities.
2.4 Moral Responsibilities
2.4.1 He/She should respect the country’s rules and regulations regardless of what his/her nationality and religion belief background.
2.4.2 Must observe confidentiality at all times.
2.4.3 Respect the Islamic belief, customs and traditions of the Kingdom.
2.4.4 Must value the family and patients’ rights.
2.4.5 Observe the code of ethics in nursing.

Desired Candidate Profile
3.1 BSN preferred or Diploma in Nursing (graduated from accredited school of nursing)
