About the role
The Steward is an essential member of the culinary team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within the kitchen and heart-of-house areas. This role supports the smooth and efficient operation of food and beverage service by maintaining kitchen equipment, washing and storing utensils, and assisting with the overall upkeep of workspaces. The Steward plays a key part in creating a safe and well-organized environment that allows chefs and service staff to focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.

What you will do
Main Duties/Description:

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining areas, and back-of-house operations.
  • Wash, clean, and store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Ensure proper use and care of dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling; maintain cleanliness of waste areas.
  • Restock kitchen supplies such as cutlery, plates, and glassware.
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation and moving supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, shortages, or breakages to the supervisor.
  • Support banquet or event setups by ensuring adequate supplies are available.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Stewarding Manager or Executive Chef

Desired Candidate Profile

What you bring

  • A minimum of at least 1 year of experience in the similar role in a luxury brand
  • An outgoing personality and a can-do approach to an assigned task
  • High level of understanding and knowledge of Stewarding operations
  • Knowledge of basic hygiene, sanitation, and safety practices.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items; stand and walk for long periods.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
