Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
A Stock Controller plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of supply chain management by ensuring that inventory levels are maintained accurately and efficiently. This role involves monitoring and managing stock movements to prevent overstocking or stockouts. By coordinating with different departments such as purchasing, sales, and logistics, the Stock Controller ensures that stock levels are optimally balanced to meet the company's operational requirements. The position requires a meticulous eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Effective communication and time management are essential as the role involves working closely with suppliers and team members to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records. Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels daily to identify needed orders or process adjustments.
- Coordinate with purchasing and logistics staff to streamline the replenishment process.
- Conduct regular stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain inventory management procedures and documentation.
- Forecast inventory demands and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with suppliers to manage stock levels and reduce lead times.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize processes, and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding inventory handling.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, costs, and trends for management review.
- Assist in the development of inventory management software to streamline operations.
- Resolve issues related to stock discrepancies or delivery challenges promptly.
- Manage and train junior staff in inventory management techniques and protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Stock Controller or similar inventory management position.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with suppliers and colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
