NOV ISE Operations is the global manufacturing and supply chain organization of the NOV ISE Division, supporting the requirements of the Wireline Products, Pressure Performance Systems, and Well Intervention & Control Equipment product lines . NOV ISE is a subsidiary company of National Oilwell Varco Int. (NOV) with approximately 900 people spread across 7 major sites providing a global foot print in support of our clients requirements.
We have a requirement for a Technical Sourcing Specialist to join a global team tasked with the development of strong supplier management relationships which will be key to the success of ISE operations group. Your expertise in technically identifying and developing suppliers to assist the business to drive toward 'best-in-class' is critical to meeting customer requirements, reducing manufacturing lead-times and production cost along with securing growth in line with the business strategy.
Your ability to co-ordinate with a cross-functional team at varying levels, to incorporate the requirements of key stakeholders, whilst ensuring alignment across the business will be crucial to success of the supply chain function.
Manage supplier relationships related to technical product requirements of the ISE group.
Leverage the group spend/demand to deliver vendor cost savings in line with set objects.
Rationalise the vendor portfolio to ensure critical supply products are proactively managed for example Just-In-Time delivery, live supplier stock holding, and dynamic supplier capacity management.
Work closely with the continuous improvement and Process Engineering teams to ensure the supply base is delivering goods and services in-line with the continuously evolving lean initiatives happening at the NOV ISE operations bases.
Identify through investigation and communication significant improvement opportunities relating to the technical requirements of ISE versus supplier capability. Suggest ways in which to release these opportunities and delivering against them.
Proactively challenge and support the vendors to identify and deliver improvements.
Work with the regional Quality functions to ensure supplier quality requirements are adhered to.
Proactively participate in regular supplier reviews including supplier visits, quarterly business review meetings and the use of supplier quality audits.
Identify risks in the current equipment supply chain, and put in place solutions to eliminate or mitigate these risks.
Technically support engineering on product changes and new product introductions that impact the manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Liaise with local procurements teams on supplier management and continuous evolvement of KPI's (performance, quality, delivery, cost and communications) along with providing technical guidance where required.
Collate and analyse data to aid strategy formulation and decision-making.
Assist in the setting and monitor of supplier KPI's. When necessary put in place corrective action plans ensuring performance improves.
Assist key suppliers to improve with technical product offerings in line with the business requirements
Prepare consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution.
Ensure all company policies, procedures and the employee handbook are followed by department heads.
Travel when required both domestically and internationally in order to support the goals of the business or project.

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related discipline
• Extensive technical knowledge of metallurgy.
• Experience of working with suppliers in a technical expertise role relating metallurgy.
Skills, training or special knowledge
• Thorough experienced based knowledge of metallurgy
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Demonstrated ability to deliver cost reduction and operational performance results
• Flexible to travel with 20-30% of the time
Quality Assurance
Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
Participate in training where required.

Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
