Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice, ensuring project objectives are met with clarity and precision.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in materials and construction techniques to continuously improve design practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential structural failures and safety hazards.
  • Lead project teams in the execution of structural projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Evaluate existing structures for rehabilitation and retrofitting needs, assessing their integrity and recommending necessary upgrades.
  • Utilize modern analytical methods, including finite element analysis, to optimize structural designs for efficiency and performance.
  • Prepare detailed structural reports and documentation that clearly communicate design rationale and compliance with engineering principles.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects and contractors to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall building plans while adhering to local codes.
  • Design and analyze structural systems to ensure they meet safety and durability standards, utilizing advanced software like AutoCAD and SAP

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred for advanced roles.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is mandatory to practice in many jurisdictions.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
  • Proven track record of successful project management, demonstrating the ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and sustainability practices in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, with a focus on tools like Revit and ETABS.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive problem solver with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, capable of working under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, respecting diverse perspectives and expertise.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are a plus to cater to international projects and clients.
