Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Prepare accurate and detailed structural shop drawings including reinforcement details, embedments, connections, sections, and assembly drawings based on architectural & structural construction drawings, project specifications, and local/International codes.

  2. Review design intent drawings, identify discrepancies, and propose practical solutions for construction and fabrication.

  3. Use AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM/engineering software to create, modify, and update shop drawings efficiently.

  4. Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve technical queries (RFI), implement design changes, and ensure drawings comply with project requirements.

  5. Conduct self-checks and cross-checks for dimensions, reinforcement layout, clearances, and constructability to minimize errors on site.

  6. Maintain drawing archives, revision control, and proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

  7. Support material takeoffs, as-built drawings, and technical submissions as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Engineering.

  2. Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in structural shop drawing preparation for buildings or infrastructure projects.

  3. Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit is a strong advantage.

  4. Familiarity with international codes (ACI, BS, Eurocode, or Emirate standards) and construction practices.

  5. Ability to read and understand structural design drawings thoroughly.

  6. Strong attention to detail, good time management, and ability to work under tight deadlines.

  7. Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).

  8. Willing to work in Dubai, UAE for a period of 3 to 5 years.
