Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Structure Specialist acts as the senior technical authority and reviewer for all structural engineering aspects of a major offshore Oil & Gas project (e.g., platforms, jackets, topsides, and subsea structures). This role ensures the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor's deliverables comply with project specifications, international codes, and Client standards.
- Technical Review & Assurance - Lead the technical review and approval of all structural engineering deliverables from the EPC Contractor, including: Design Basis, Specifications, Calculations (In-place, seismic, fatigue, dynamic, loadout, lift, transportation, etc.), Structural Drawings, 3D Models, and technical reports.
- Code & Standards Compliance - Ensure all designs and analyses strictly comply with all relevant international codes (e.g., API, AISC, DNV, ISO), statutory regulations, and the Client's specific design and safety standards (e.g., ADNOC Offshore standards).
- Analysis and Software - Provide specialized technical expertise in complex structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA), particularly utilizing industry-standard software like SACS, STAAD .Pro, and ABAQUS, to validate critical design solutions.
- Interface Management - Coordinate and manage technical interfaces with other engineering disciplines (Piping, Mechanical, Process, Electrical) and with Marine/Installation teams to ensure structural design supports all project requirements (e.g., equipment loads, pipe supports, installation aids).
- Project & Site Support - Participate in design reviews (e.g., HAZID/HAZOP), risk assessments, and vendor/contractor meetings. Provide specialist technical support during fabrication, transportation, and offshore installation/construction phases.
- Management & Reporting - Contribute to technical proposals, write and review scope of work (SOW) documents, and prepare comprehensive technical clarification responses and project status reports for the PMC and Client leadership.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum Overall 17+ years of experience in Oil and Gas`.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position for international Oil &Gas projects.
- Strong expertise in all aspects of EPC / Detail Engineering activities specially in Offshore Oil & gas sector.
- Experience in ADNOC Offshore projects will be an added advantage
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is a pre- requisite for the role
