Roles & Responsibilities
The Student Information System (SIS) Specialist will support the Admissions and Registration processes by managing, configuring, and optimizing Ellucian Banner on the Cloud. This role ensures data integrity, system efficiency, and seamless operations related to student records, admissions, course registration, and academic reporting. The specialist will collaborate with IT, admissions staff, registrars, and academic departments to enhance system functionality and user experience.
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Ellucian Banner (SIS) on the Cloud for Admissions, Registration, and Student Records.
- Configure Banner workflows, forms, and processes to support application processing, enrollment, degree audits, and academic scheduling
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely updating of student records within Ellucian Banner SaaS.
- Manage application processing, applicant tracking, and admission decision workflows in Banner.
- Support course registration, waitlist management, term setup, and prerequisite checking
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline admissions and registration processes.
- Work with IT to integrate Banner with CRM, Degree Works, Payment Gateways, etc.
- Generate academic and statistical reports as required by UKB colleges and other administrative units. For example, enrollment trends, student demographics, and admissions statistics reports.
- Collaborate with the IT unit to ensure system security and optimal performance.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of Ellucian Banner SaaS upgrades and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide effective solutions in collaboration with Ellucian Banner support.
- Document Ellucian Banner SIS-related procedures, workflows, and user guides.
- Support admission, registration, graduation, and student transfer processes within Ellucian Banner SaaS.
- Contribute to the automation and optimization of academic administrative processes.
- Train and assist end-users (admissions counselors, registrars, faculty) on Banner Self-Service (SSB) and related modules
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Ellucian Banner Student Information Systems or similar educational ERP platforms.
- Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
- Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Ability to work collaboratively and support non-technical users.
