We require an experienced manager who meets the following requirements:
Minimum of 5 years and above experience in a UAE based supermarket as a senior supervisor/Purchaser for entire supermarket including all product lines.
Must have extensive knowledge and data of Suppliers, distributors, Products range and prices, market trend of customers, needs of the store Stock etc.
Previous experience in business to business sales and account management
Excellent oral and written communication skills and good behavioral background
Computer literate and can speak English fluently and other language is an advantage
Develop, lead, execute purchasing strategies and close deals with optimal terms
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and bench-marking, assess, manage and mitigate risks
Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers and stakeholders to ensure clear requirements and documentation and determine quantity and timing of deliveries
Assign, schedule tasks, discipline, counsel and coach employees and also follow up on the results they generate.
Initiate corrective actions, analyze variance, schedule expenditure, and prepare annual budget aside achieving other financial objectives of the organization.
Collaborate with other members of staff that have good understanding about service requirements.
Maintain inventories and approve contracts to ensure consistent availability of the required services and merchandise.
Due to the challenging nature of the supermarket store manager’s role, he/she is usually required to work on weekends and to put longer hours on weekdays.
The duties and responsibilities the supermarket store manager usually has to handle are determined by the size of the supermarket; it increases with the store’s size.
He/she is expected to carry the top management and other members of staff along and to make reports of daily activities to the assigned authority, attending and chairing meetings
Aside overseeing sales activities in the supermarket, the store manager is equally expected to develop and communicate new ideas on how to move the supermarket forward.
Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues and promoting the organization locally
Touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers and identifying or resolving urgent issues, queries and complaints
Should have experience dealing with immigration, labor, and other regulatory authorities.
Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to do quality work under tight deadlines and multitask
