Sustainability Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Sustainability Engineer to lead sustainability initiatives across our production, materials sourcing, and certification processes. The ideal candidate will ensure our products comply with UL, CE, RoHS, and other relevant environmental and safety standards. Additionally, they will champion sustainability communication and engagement through technical documentation, internal practices, and social media representation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor sustainability strategies aligned with LEDFlex s corporate and manufacturing goals.
• Drive eco-design initiatives to minimize environmental impact in materials, packaging, and production processes.
• Collaborate with the R&D and production teams to optimize energy use and resource efficiency.
• Prepare sustainability reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct lifecycle assessments (LCAs) and carbon footprint analyses of products and processes.

Certifications & Compliance

• Manage and maintain product and process certifications, including UL, CE, RoHS, REACH, and other relevant global standards.
• Liaise with external certification bodies, testing labs, and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain accurate records of certification documents and ensure timely renewals.
• Audit materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes for compliance with sustainability and safety regulations.
• Provide technical support for sustainability claims and certifications.

Production & Material Sustainability

• Work closely with production teams to ensure sustainable material selection and waste reduction.
• Research and recommend eco-friendly alternatives for materials, components, and packaging.
• Monitor supply chain sustainability, ensuring alignment with corporate environmental policies.

Communication & Advocacy

• Support the marketing and communications teams with sustainability content, including case studies, social media updates, and corporate reports.
• Represent LEDFlex s sustainability vision on professional platforms and social media.
• Conduct internal training and awareness sessions on sustainability and compliance best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

• Bachelor s degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3 5 years of experience in sustainability, compliance, or certification roles (preferably in manufacturing or lighting/electronics sectors).
• Strong understanding of UL, CE, RoHS, REACH, and ISO standards.
• Experience in sustainability reporting, audits, and lifecycle analysis (LCA).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable using sustainability reporting software and digital collaboration tools.
• Social media awareness and ability to represent sustainability initiatives online professionally.

Desirable:

• Experience in LED or lighting product manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of EPD (Environmental Product Declarations) and ESG frameworks.
• Familiarity with circular economy principles and sustainable product design.
• Fluency in English; Arabic an advantage.
