Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and create custom garments based on client specifications, ensuring a perfect fit through detailed measurements and adjustments.
  • Oversee the entire tailoring process, from fabric selection to final fittings, while maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Train and mentor junior tailors, sharing advanced techniques and best practices to elevate their skills and efficiency.
  • Manage client consultations, translating their ideas and styles into practical designs that meet their needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with fashion designers to produce unique pieces that align with current trends while maintaining classic tailoring techniques.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure all garments are free of defects and meet client expectations before delivery.
  • Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are kept in optimal condition for efficient tailoring operations.
  • Stay updated on the latest tailoring trends, fabrics, and techniques to continuously enhance service offerings and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare accurate quotes and timelines for projects, ensuring transparency and timely communication with clients throughout the process.
  • Utilize technology for pattern making and fitting simulations, integrating modern tools to improve precision and reduce waste.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Strong communication skills enable effective client consultations and team collaboration.
  • Expertise in hand-stitching techniques and fabric manipulation is crucial for creating exceptional garments.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional languages such as Italian or French are a plus for international client interactions.
  • Preference for candidates from regions with a strong tailoring heritage, such as Italy, France, or Japan.
  • Experience in luxury fashion houses or bespoke tailoring shops showcases a commitment to quality.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in high-end tailoring or bespoke garment creation.
