An exciting role has arisen to join the 1% club of Tax Professionals working in the Middle East for a leading player within the Sovereign Market.
This is ideal for a CPA/ACA/CTA/LLM or equivalent from UK/EU or the US at ideally Senior Manager level/junior Director who is looking to relocate or Abu Dhabi. Anything above this level is simply not right as the firm is keen to allow true growth in the role and ensure the compensation respects the wider team.
The firm in question expects and needs a person who can create an impact on the team by coming armed with:
Approx. seven years plus of relevant tax planning experience for a SWF/asset manager with a global portfolio of investments in alternatives (private equity, real estate, infrastructure, global special situations), or equivalent experience with a reputable law firm, or Big 4 accounting firm.
Absolutely essential is experience of providing international tax advice in a fast-paced M&A environment, including working closely
with acquisition / commercial teams.
This role is a key contributor to transactional and investment teams & you will be advising the investment teams on potential investments, acquisitions, or disposals, including structuring and due diligence, assessing financial models, and working closely with the legal team and external advisors in the preparation of legal documentation.
You will proactively assist in providing guidance on potential tax implications of investment decisions, in particular
reviewing investment decisions in light of potential UAE Corporate Tax implications and interaction with underlying and/or intermediary jurisdiction tax regimes.
Assist the investment teams to estimate the potential tax implications of potential investment decisions for
inclusion in compulsory investment committee reporting.
Monitor international tax developments, and address changes in law.
Assist with taxation of investment training sessions (formal, and ad hoc) for the wider investment team.
It is essential you will have a passion for providing international tax advice in a fast-paced M&A environment, including working closely
with acquisition / commercial teams.
Ideally the candidate will have core private equity experience along with an understanding of asset management organizations and different asset classes (ideally traditional and alternatives).
