SHARE JOB Can t Wait to Learn (CWTL) is an education technology programme that proposes new (cost-) effective solutions to the urgent challenges facing education for children in emergencies. By utilising innovative technological solutions with a focus on serious gaming, CWTL builds on concepts which have been successfully piloted in Sudan (e-Learning Sudan). CWTL has ambitions to increase the number of children with access to quality education in mathematics in areas affected by conflict in Africa and the Middle East, including in Jordan and Lebanon. The CWTL team, including its technical partners, will work together to digitise the Jordanian and Lebanese curriculum onto tablets, which will be used by children with guidance from a trained facilitator. In addition to mathematics, reading and psychosocial well-being-focused materials will be introduced to the CWTL portfolio during 2018. Developing fresh, interactive materials based on the national curricula and creating effective partnership structures to distribute these, creates new opportunities for making education accessible to those children who have been excluded. By facilitating their access to an effective and innovative learning tool, the CWTL programme seeks to increase children's resilience and support their educational (re)integration and progression. General objective of the job The Education Technical Officer monitors, coordinates, mentors and supports teachers and community facilitators involved in the CWTL programme. Position in the organisation The Education Technical Officer is part of the CWTL Programme and reports to the Programme Manager. S/he does not manage programme staff but may provide technical support as delegated by the CWTL Programme Manager. S/he collaborates with the staff of the Program Implementation and Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Units. Responsibilities Result areas Supporting teachers and community facilitators Ensures and monitors planned activities that take place in centers Assesses facilitators training needs based on center visits and collection of regular data Designs and conducts training to build the competency of teachers and community facilitators Assists in developing a monitoring and evaluation framework for both children s and facilitators assessment Ensures, promotes and facilitates the principles of child protection and child participation are integrated into all programme activities Prepares and submits reports on facilitators and children s performance Ensures a strict adherence to War Child Holland Child Safety and Protection Policies at all times including respect for confidentiality and child centered approach, acts in the best interests of the child Result: Facilitators are supported in such a matter that CWTL is implemented according to WCH s standards and a monitoring and evaluation framework is established and implemented. 2. Coordinating and communicating Coordinates professional development opportunities and workshops as requested Organizes regular meetings with parents and other stakeholders Ensures child protection concerns are communicated to the Child Protection focal point Coordinates and communicates with CWTL Programme Manager, and generally works closely with the WCH Lebanon team Coordinates, communicates, and collaborates closely with community focal points, outreach staff, and social workers. Result: Coordination and communications are conducted in such a way that requests are answered and Child Safety/ Protection concerns are reported.
