Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

▪ Conduct thorough examination, load testing and assessment to ensure that machinery is being operated in a safe condition in accordance with the specified schedule for the specified equipment:

  • Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes

  • Mobile Cranes

  • Loose lifting equipment

  • Fixed/powered lifting appliances and Forklift trucks

  • Hot Metal and Bath Tapping Crucibles

  • Mobile Elevating Work Platform

▪ Conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) using Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) technique and Ultrasonic Thickness Tester on various lifting equipment components and machine elements to assess the components and confirm they are free from defects.

▪ Conduct examination/hydrostatic testing and assessment on air receivers and alumina tankers to ensure they are being operated in a safe condition in accordance with the specified schedule.

▪ Attend equipment breakdowns and unplanned examination/testing activities and carry out inspection work with minimum direction and supervision.

▪ Diagnose defects and failures on lifting equipment/air receivers, and other machine elements irrespective of size.

▪ Work towards improving EHS, Plant Equipment Performance involving 5S, Suggestions, Autonomous Maintenance, A3 problem solving and RCA.

▪ Carry out work in accordance with the Company's Operating Safety Regulations and plant operating requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications: ▪ Diploma/technical high school or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline Minimum Experience: ▪ Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience related to lifting equipment Skills: ▪ Certified in Non-destructive Testing (NDT Level II) of Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Testing (MT), and Visual Testing (VT) methods as per ASNT standard or equivalent ▪ The knowledge and experience required in the position is that gained through previous experience working in aluminium industry or equivalent heavy industrial plant with exposure preferably in examination & testing of lifting equipment and pressure vessel ▪ Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and manuals. Must be computer literate
