Roles & Responsibilities

SCOPE (Brief Description Of Overall Responsibility):


The Testing & Commissioning Engineer shall be responsible for design, testing& commissioning of protection and control systems at HV stations (33, 132 and 220 kV). The P&C engineer shall be responsible for the selection and parameterization of BCPUs (Protection and control) of the SCMS systems as well as other IEDs. He shall be competent with HV interlocking schemes, AC and DC schematics and modifications (including CT & PT circuits and cabling). He shall be familiar in use of relay testing equipment (OMICRON and ISA).


The Main Job Activities:


- Preparation of modifications of AC and DC schematics and interlocking schemes.

- Select and size various IEDs (including BCPUs).

- Familiar with various substation communication IEC (IEC 6150 and IEC 6070-5-101/104) protocols

- Using testing equipment (e.g. OMICRON and ISA)

- Familiar with SCMS HMI and SCADA software

- Capable of testing individual components and overall integrated systems

- Attending site services for installation supervision, commissioning and site acceptance test

Desired Candidate Profile

- GCC Competency (especially TAQA in Abu Dhabi)

- Familiar with various SCMS and protection relay protocols.

- Familiar with Telecommunication Systems and components such as SDH and PDH Multiplexers and radio communication and modems.
