Job Description

As a TGT Social Studies Teacher, you will join a dynamic educational team committed to nurturing students into well-rounded individuals. You will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that engage students in the fundamental principles of Social Studies, which encompass history, geography, economics, and political science. Your role is vital in helping students develop critical thinking skills and appreciate the relevance of social sciences in understanding societal structures and historical developments. Your teaching should inspire curiosity and broaden students' perspectives. You will work collaboratively with other faculty members and parents to support student growth and development, ensuring that the educational experience aligns with educational standards and fosters a passion for learning.


Responsibilities
  • Design and implement lesson plans that meet the educational standards for Social Studies.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions that encourage critical and analytical thinking among students.
  • Design assessments and assignments that effectively evaluate student understanding and progress.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage different learning styles.
  • Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and encourages student interaction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the school s Social Studies curriculum.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child s progress and educational needs.
  • Stay updated on current events to relate classroom learning to real-world scenarios.
  • Organize field trips and extracurricular activities to enhance experiential learning.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Provide support and additional help to students outside of regular class hours.
  • Adhere to all school and district policies regarding classroom conduct and teaching practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Education, History, Geography, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification in Social Studies or eligibility to obtain one.
  • At least two years of experience teaching at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of Social Studies curriculum and state educational standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students and parents.
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans and deliver them effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and educational innovation.
