Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

At AtkinsR alis is seeking a Track Works Expert for a landmark High-Speed Rail infrastructure project. This role is critical to ensuring the successful design, installation, and commissioning of track systems that meet the stringent requirements of high-speed rail operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in track engineering, construction methodologies, and quality assurance, with demonstrated experience in High-Speed Rail.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of track works for high-speed rail infrastructure.
  • Oversee alignment design, track geometry, and interface with civil structures and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct technical reviews of design documents, method statements, and inspection/test plans.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and safety of track work on-site.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, signalling, and rolling stock engineers.
  • Provide expert input on track maintenance strategies and lifecycle cost optimization.
  • Support risk assessments and mitigation planning related to track infrastructure.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders and project leadership.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree, preferable Masters or/and Chartered Engineer
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in track engineering, with at least 5 years on high-speed rail projects.
  • Proven expertise in slab track and ballasted track systems.
  • Familiarity with track construction equipment and technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of track tolerances, stress management, and dynamic behavior under high-speed loads.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
